MR. HUSBAND is the celebrated brainchild of Kenny Tompkins. Based in Frederick, MD they're known for their blend of pop, psychedelic, and slightly damaged sounds, described as "empathetic but in a funny way" with lyrics aimed at a mature audience. Their music often incorporates elements of California dreaming, beach-blanket boogaloo, country, and bossa nova. Expect catchy melodies, a touch of quirkiness, and a playful, slightly irreverent approach to storytelling.
GIANT DAY is a duo, featuring Derek Almstead and Emily Growden, known for their blend of psych, art rock, post-punk, and dream pop influences. Once stalwarts of the Athens, GA indie scene, they've brought their Elephant 6 cred to the tiny town of Patience, PA, from whence they grow these moody, kraut-rockish tunes which are so beautiful, so economical, and so tight, one must try to both focus and dance.
